I was inspired by brutalism. A direction within art and architecture that is both rough and solid. Like a miner fresh from work. A policeman back from the streets. A soldier returning home from the trenches. Forever carved in light and darkness.

Night time in greys
Night time in greys
One of my quick sketches...which often are stepping stones for paintings or other drawings.
The loose and quite uncontrolled works often done in soft, soft and dark pencils,
that flow like silk in my hands.I love the silk and I love the dark tones, that I only truely encounter in my sleep or alternatively away from city lights at night.I do not find black or greys somber.I find them deep and sensual.

"Rain"
This is one of my recent paintings...I find architecture interesting....You probably already noticed:-)
Buildings are sculptures in my world..large and out in every kinds of weather. I enjoy when the sun comes out after a heavy shower of rain..everything wet and glistening...Air crisp and clean. In Denmark buildings can be in bright colours but also so red because of the red bricks we often use here...
And this is one of my oilpaintings ...It was a mess to make this one..but well worth it.......

"South"- about the quick sketches in between paintings
"South"
This one is a good example of the drawings that "come to me" in between paintings.
They are spontaneus and often a telltale that a painting will come later...I take care not to be "slow" here.. They are meant to be alive.. The little imperfections and rough surfaces are part of the expression....

"Upcoming - architectural abstraction"
I have seriously dug out my old passion.....It is about time...I love architecture in its at times quite abstract forms. Hopefully more of these drawings will emerge within the next year.....This one is exhibited locally right now..and it has a partner done in blue colors....It surprises me that so many like these drawings, but then again: architecture is all around us every day....unless we live far away from civilization. It is our man made everyday art...and it affects us in so many ways.

Sunny Side Of The Street
My love for architecture...This is one of my latest works. Done in watercolours, pencil and ink.
It was my goal to let southern heat emanate from the buildings..
Personally I like it a lot...but sorry it is not for sale.It does not live here anymore...This one is the first of a new coming series of architectural works. Even though I work a lot with oil and acrylic paintings, it is not all I do....

Drawing, I bakkerne/ In the hills
I bakkerne/ In the hills, 2012.
There are times when I use drawings as a means to make the right painting..This one went before a big painting..
Sometimes my drawings stand well alone.
I like the "roughness" of the drawing compared to my paintings.
It is difficult to explain - but it is about the texture of the paper (this is made for watercolours)..- about the small imperfections. (It is like with people..Imperfect people are more fun:-)
